These Avery Iron-On T-Shirt Transfer sheets are a great way to personalize shirts, sweaters, tote bags and other 100% cotton products in the comfort of the user’s home. These sheets are specifically designed to transfer images onto darker colored cotton products. Users will need the following products to complete this project: computer, compatible software, inkjet printer, household iron, transfer sheets and scissors/X-Acto knife. Avery provides users with easy to follow instructions. However, there are a few helpful reminders and tips new users may want to keep in mind to avoid potential problems. First, users need to peel off the printed paper BEFORE initiating transfer with an iron. Many users forget this and waste a whole sheet! Second, many veteran users recommend washing and drying the cotton product before ironing on any image. Users also recommend setting the printer to its highest resolution. In general, users disagree as to how the product holds up after a few wash and dry cycles. Some users reported the image did not hold up after a few wash/dry cycles, while other reported the image lasted months. The exact reason for this discrepancy is unknown, however, users who rated the product highly felt that washing the finished product inside-out in cold water and drying it at a low temperature setting kept their end-product undamaged. Overall, Amazon users give this product 4.1 out of 5 stars with over 500 reviews.
